The Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) part of Land Rover presented the first armored car in the company’s history. The Range Rover Sentinel.
The car is based on the Autobiography version and it can withstand bullets of up to 7.62 mm. At the same time it can withstand an explosion of up to 15 kg of TNT.
The shield is made of high strength steel, with the typical light crystals having been replaced by tinted bulletproof glass. SVO has also improved the suspension and the characteristics of the Dynamic Stability Control systems and the Ride Stability Control. The car also features a parallel auxiliary battery, run-flat tires heavy-duty, self-sealing fuel tank and an emergency system for the rear passengers in case that the doors can not be opened.
It is equipped with a 3 liter V6 supercharged engine producing 340 hp combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It has a price of €400,000 and it can move legally in the European Union, countries of South America, Africa and the Middle East.
