Audi will unveil in 2018 the second generation of the A1. The design of the new car will be an evolution of the current one, but mechanically it will be offered with new and updated engines.
The new A1 will be bigger, more spacious and it will weigh less. It will be based on the MQB platform and its basic version will be available with a 1.0 liter engine. According to rumors, there will also be a version with a 2-liter TSI producing 200 hp, while the new S1 Sportsback will have 250 hp, with the RS1 to deliver 300 hp.
The smallest model of Audi will have technology borrowed from the top luxury models of the company and all its engines will be available with the dual clutch S-Tronic gearbox. The production of the new A1 will be transferred from Belgium to Seat’s factory in Martorell, Spain.
