Sebastien Loeb tried but it did not break the record time of Nick Heidfeld, for the ascent of the hill of Goodwood. The Frenchman behind the wheel of the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak, which last year had amazed the whole world with its performance at Pikes Peak, made a time of 46.45 seconds at Goodwood, which was not enough to catch the 41.6 sec of Nick Heidfeld, former driver of Formula1.
The nine times World Rally Champion, said that he was not likely to break the record of Heidfeld, because the relations of the box of Peugeot were very short and it caught its top speed, hitting the rev limiter before the end of the straight.
Despite this, Loeb was the fastest in this year’s event. The 208 T16 Pikes Peak is equipped with a V6 bi-turbo 3,2 liter 24-valve engine mounted in the center, yielding 875 hp with 900 Nm torque. It has a top speed of 240 km/h with 0-100 km/h coming in 1.8 seconds, the 0-200 km/h in 4.8 seconds and 0-240 km/h in 7.0 seconds.
