Seat unveiled today two versions for the new Cupra Leon, the Seat Leon Cupra and the Cupra 280. Both, use a four-cylinder, two-liter, turbocharged TSI engine, the first version produces 265 hp while the second 280 hp and the torque is the same at 350 Nm.
The engine is combined to either a 6- speed manual or DSG while the power passes to the front wheels by a limited slip differential . The new Cupra is 55 kilos lighter than the model it replaces.
Beyond that , the two versions , differentiate by the aggressive bodykit with large air intakes, rear diffuser, two single tailpipes on the exhaust and 18 inch alloy wheels . The Cupra 280 includes a subtle aero kit with a rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels and black decorations both outside and inside .
The Cupra 280 is the most powerful production car in the history of Seat. Equipped with the DSG, it reaches the 100km/h from standstill in just 5.7 seconds (with the manual 0.1 seconds later ) while the top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h. The simple Cupra completes 0-100 in 5.8 sec with DSG (again , 0.1 sec later the manual ) and the top speed is also electronically limited to 250km/h. Regarding consumption, Seat states that the Cupra manually consumes 6.4 liters per 100km in the combined cycle and with the DSG 6.7 liters.
The two models are already available to order in England , the price starts at 25,690 pounds for the SC Cupra (30.828 €) and reaches 28.525 pounds for the Cupra 280 DSG (34.230 €). As we already know thanks to some spy photos, Seat will present the station wagon version of the Leon Cupra later this year .
