Skoda has released two teaser photos of the upcoming Superb. The design of the new Superb will be strongly influenced by the VisionC concept. The lines are strongly reminiscent of the coupe while the front, features a grille and LED daytime running lights.
The third generation of the Skoda Superb will be based on the MQB platform and while it will be larger in length, it will weigh about 75 kilos less than the model it replaces. Regarding the range of engines, rumor say that it will be available with a 1.4 liter gasoline engine with 125 hp, a 1.8 liter TSI with 260 hp and two diesel of 1.6 liters and 2 liters yield 120 and 190 hp respectively. There is also the rumors of a plug-in hybrid version that will be driven by a 1.4 liter TSI gasoline engine and an electric motor that will provide a combined horsepower of 211 hp.
The new Skoda Superb will be presented in mid-February at an event in Prague before it makes its official debut in the Geneva auto show in March. It is expected to be launched in mid 2015.
