Toyota presented the brand new Fortuner in Australia. The seven-seater SUV is based on the Hilux and it will go on sale in Australia by the end of October. It is 4,795 mm long and 1,835 mm high, while it has a wheelbase of 2,745 mm.
It will be available with a 2.8 liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine producing 177 hp at 3,400 rpm, combined with either a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic 6 speed gearbox. The towing capacity with the manual transmission is 3,000 kilos and 2,800 kilos with the automatic transmission.
The suspension consists of double wishbones front and multi links at the rear. The power is transferred to all wheels, while the car has also a rear view camera, a hill-start system and seven airbags.
