According to Niels Möller, managing director of Polestar, the company contributed to the development of a new 2 liter turbo Drive-E four-cylinder engine. This engine is expected to deliver 350 hp and it will be combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It will be placed in several models of Volvo and in particular on the XC90 Polestar.
The new engine will weigh less than the 3 liter engine that it will replace, while it will emit almost half of the CO2 emissions. According to Möller, Volvo believes that the future performance cars should address the environmental pollution problem, adding that Polestar thinks to produce a sporty version of every Volvo model.
