Volvo has presented its new CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) modular platform which has been prepared in cooperation with its Chinese parent company, Geely. The new platform will be used in future compact models of the Swedish brand, which will be manufactured both in Volvo’s plant in Ghent, Belgium and to also in Geely’s factory in China.

The first model that will be built in this platform, will be launched in the market in 2017, with the platform borrowing several elements from the SPA platform of the company, including gasoline and diesel engines, a plug-in hybrid set and parts related with infotainment systems, the air conditioning system, data network and security systems.
