Local Motors presented in this year’s SEMA a car that is manufactured entirely using 3D printers, the car is called LM3D Swim and it is a modern version of a beach buggy, which anyone can buy.
The American company plans to open orders for the car next spring, with a starting price around $53,000, and the first deliveries will be made in early 2017. The company’s factory in Knoxville, Tennessee will manufacture the vehicle. Finally, the company did not mention anything about the mechanical part of the LM3D Swim, but they promise that the car will be “safe, smart and sustainable”.
