Chevrolet presented the Corvette C7.R at the Detroit Autoshow.The frame of the Corvette C7.R is brand new, made of aluminium with 40 % more rigidness than that of the C6.R.
It is equipped with an atmospheric V8 5.5 liter engine for which Chevrolet did not announced the horsepower and torque, but it is expected to be stronger than the previous version which produced 485 hp.
The power will be send to the rear wheels via a 6-speed serial transmission while the braking system consists of steel discs with six-piston calipers. The wheels are 18 inch equipped with Michelin racing tires.
The 2014 Corvette C7.R will be entitled to participate in various competitions, one of which is of course both the United SportsCar Series and the Le Mans. It will make its debut on January 25 , at the 24 hours of Daytona ( the first race of the United SportsCar Series).
