Opel presented the all-new 2015 Corsa before its official debut at the Paris exhibition on 4 October this year. The new Opel Corsa, has changed significantly, but it still remains instantly recognizable. The mask of the fifth generation of the German car, is small, it is clearly inspired by the Adam with the grille being wider and the lights being on edges.
The car has a more muscular and dynamic design. The interior on the other hand, is more conservative, with black decorations, metal details and a three-spoke steering wheel. The model is equipped with the IntelliLink infotainment system combined with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and compatibility with Siri Eyes Free. Additional equipment includes heated front seats and panoramic sunroof among other.
The highest priority of Opel, was to make the driving experience of the Corsa, comparable to more expensive cars, to achieve that they have equipped the car with a new chassis and steering. The center of gravity of the new Corsa is 5 mm closer to the ground while the new suspension geometry at the front, promises improved stability, both in straight lines and at corners. Moreover, the new damping characteristics of the suspension on the other, make the Corsa able to filter better the bumps, giving greater comfort. Finally, customers will have to choose between two set-ups for the chassis: Comfort and Sport with the Sport having harder springs and dampers and precise steering geometry.
Opel did not give details regarding the performance of the 2015 Corsa but they stated succinctly the engines that the car will be available with, which are a three-cylinder ECOTEC 1 liter, which will be available in two versions: one with 90 hp and one with 115 hp. Both versions producing 170 Nm of torque from 1,800 rpm and being combined with a new 6-speed manual gearbox. At the range of available engines we also find a 14 liter, turbocharged engine with 100 hp and 200 Nm of torque and two aspirated engines with a capacity of 1.2 and 1.4 liters. As for diesel engines, the Corsa will be offered with an engine in two versions. The 1.3 CDTI, delivering either 75 or 95 hp which will be associated with a 5-speed manual transmission and a start/stop system, emitting only 89 gr/km of CO2.
Sales of the 2015 Opel Corsa will begin later this year and the model, will be offered as a five-door and of course as a three-door.
