The car is equipped with an atmospheric 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with direct injection. It weighs 1,243 kilos and almost every part of the suspension, the body and transmission system, have been developed from scratch. Its engine produces 510 hp and it is combined with a 6-speed serial transmission with magnesium casing and paddles on the steering wheel, with the power transferred to the rear wheels through a locking differential.

The car features a huge diffuser and a big spoiler, which is inspired by that of the 919 Hybrid and vastly increases downforce. Its chassis is made of carbon and it can be removed easily and quickly. The huge brakes of the car have six-piston calipers.

Its interior features a roll cage, a bucket seat mounted on the floor, racing seat belts, with the pedals being able to adjust depending on the height of each driver.

2017 Porsche 911 RSRThe new 911 RSR is supplied with the Collision Avoid system which uses a radar and alerts drivers that they are approaching faster cars, such as the cars of the LMP1 category, since many times in endurance races, such accidents have been observed, especially during the night.

The race debut of the new Porsche 911 RSR will take place on 28 January 2017 on the track of Daytona in the 24 hour race, while it will participate in 19 matches through 2017.
