Alfa Romeo will present the Stelvio in November, at the Los Angeles auto show and now the Italian company released the first teaser photo of the SUV. The model is essentially a crossover version of the Giulia, with the teaser image revealing that it has a slightly sloping roofline.

Its production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2016, at the Cassino plant near Rome, with the pre-production of the car to start by the end of September and its deliveries to begin in early 2017.
The Alfa Romeo Stlelvio is based on the Giorgio platform, the same one used by the Giulia. It will be available with many engines, among which there will be a 2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and a 2.2-liter diesel, while later a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel with an aluminum block will be added.
The top version of the car will be equipped with the 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine of the Giulia QV. The engines will be available with a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while the QV version will be combined with a dual clutch Getrag gearbox, with the power passing to the rear axle or optionally on both axles.
The Stlelvio will be the competitor of the Mercedes GLC, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Porsche Macan and it will be one of the most important cars of the brand, as it will help with future sales.
