Magnum revealed the MK5, a lightweight street-legal two-seater rear-wheel drive car, which can move comfortably both at the track and on the street. It will be placed against Ariel Atom, Caterham R500, KTM X-Bow and VUHL 05.
It is equipped with a four-cylinder engine mounted in the rear producing 250 hp, combined with a 6 – speed sequential gearbox, which sends the power to the rear axle via a limited slip differential . It weighs just 545 kilos , having a 460 hp/ton ratio. The engine revs to 11,000 rpm , with a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h.
It has a length of 3.914 mm, width of 1.884 mm, height of 1.069 mm and wears 18 inch wheels with tires measuring 225/40 front and 265/35 rear . The suspension layout is pushrod, fully adjustable , with adjustable anti-roll bars .
Inside there are 6-point seatbelts , carbon seats, detachable leather steering wheel of 310 mm lined with suede rain resistable leather and an instrument panel with integrated data display and stopwatch .
It has a cost of $ 139.000 (€ 100.990) with the company wanting to build 20 cars per year. The first deliveries will be made towards the end of 2014.
