The last days many rumors are saying that Maserati will produce a hyper car based on the LaFerrari, with that in mind let’s go back in time 10 years in 2005, when Maserati presented at the Geneva auto show, the Birdcage Concept, a concept car designed by Pininfarina, built to celebrate the 75th birthday of the Italian designer firm.
The prototype was based on the chassis of the Maserati MC12 GT1 and it was equipped with a 6 liter V12 engine producing 700 hp. The car had no doors, with its hood, to be used as the entrance for the passengers inside. Hopefully the concept will be used as a basis for the new hyper car of Maserati.
