McLaren is considering producing a racing version of the 570S will comply with the regulations of the GT4 class. The GT4 category is more approachable by the amateur racing driver, from the clearly more competitive and more expensive, GT3 category and that is why McLaren wants the car to compete in the GT4 category.
A source inside the company said:
We are considering the car and we are seeing how it fits with our strategy. We must be able to do it at a price that makes sense both for us and for our customers.
