The chief engineer of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Philippe Krief, in a recent interview revealed several interesting things about the sport sedan of the Italian brand.

Firstly he said that the development of the car was completed within 2.5 years and that he gathered a group of 10 engineers and he started working on the car, having as a goal the best possible weight/horsepower ratio. This is how they managed and achieved the perfect 50:50 weight distribution, with the Giulia QV to weigh just 1530 kg, thanks to the use of aluminum and carbon.
Krief added that he used his experience during the development of the Ferrari 458 Speciale on the development of the Giulia and promised that the car will offer several “Ferrari road features” like precision, directness, stability and flexibility.
Regarding the 3 liter turbo engine of the Giulia QV he said that it produces high torque from low rpm, saying that “even with the sixth speed, the driver can feel the acceleration”. Finally he said that among the available engines will be a four-cylinder turbo engine and probably a V6 diesel.
