Volvo presented officially the S90, their new big luxury sedan that is equipped with many new technologies from leading security systems to applications and services.

Its length is 4,963 mm and its wheelbase reaches 2,941 mm, while it weighs from 1800 to 2150 kg depending on the version and engine and it has an aerodynamic coefficient of 0,28-0,29 Cd. Its luggage compartment reaches 500 liters, which after folding the rear seats reaches up to 1,978 liters.
Volvo has equipped the S90 with an advanced semi-autonomous driving system, called Pilot Assist. The system applies gentle movements on the steering wheel to keep the car within the lane markings at speeds up to 130 km/h, without any intervention of the driver.
Its design borrows elements from the XC90, it has the Hammer of Thor LED front lights and LED rear lights. The interior combines high-end design with cutting-edge security and it boasts a large touch screen for the infotainment system and a digital dashboard.

The car uses the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) modular platform, that was first used on the new XC90 and mechanically it will be available with the same engines as those found in the XC90. It will be offered with a 2 liter engine that produces 400 hp with 640 Nm of torque, a 2 liter engine delivering 320 hp with 400 Nm of torque, a 2 liter diesel producing 235 hp with 480 Nm of torque and another 2 liter diesel producing 190 hp with 400 Nm of torque. The engines will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission and with an 8-speed automatic.
The official debut of the Volvo S90 will be made at the Detroit auto show on January of 2016, while it will be manufactured at the company’s factory in Daqing, China.
