Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser photo of the new-generation of the E-Class, which will be officially unveiled at the Detroit auto show.

The design of the car seems to borrow elements from the C-Class and the S-Class, while its interior will feature high quality materials, with the top versions having double digital displays of 12.3 inches and the standard version having a conventional analog instrument panel combined with a 7 inch screen and a center console with an 8.4 inch screen.
It will be available with a four cylinder diesel engine producing 150, 194 and 231 hp, as well as a 3 liter V6 diesel delivering 260 hp. Also there will be a 2.9 liter twin-turbo straight six-cylinder engine with 317 hp, while its quad-turbo version will produce 405 hp.
The new E-Class will also be offered with a 2 liter turbo gasoline engine delivering 184 hp on the E200 version, 211 hp on the E250 and 245 hp on the E300. The E400 will have a 3 liter six-cylinder turbo engine delivering 333 hp, while the E450 AMG Sport version will produce 367 hp. The E63 AMG will be wearing a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with its power output being unknown for the moment. Finally the E350e Hybrid will combine a gasoline engine and an electric motor. The engines will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox and also with the new 9 speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, which can send the power to either the rear or all four wheels.
