Aston Martin thinks that the known four-door version of the model was not good enough
so they decided to replace it with an upgraded version the Aston Martin Rapide S with quite a few more horses under the bonnet.
The new “S” will have its premiere at the Geneva next March, but the makers decided that it will be available to order from early February.The car has the same V12 engine of 6.0 liters from the known Rapide except that the power has been increased by 81 horsepower, reaching a total of 558 hp and 620 Nm torque.
The result is a reduction in acceleration time from 0-100 km. / Hour to 4.9 seconds while the maximum speed of the “S” will be more than 305 km. / Hr.Despite the power increase, the Aston Martin Rapide S reduces fuel consumption figures and emissions of carbon dioxide to 8.0 l/100 km and 332 g./Km. (From 8.5 l/100 km and 355 g. / Km. CO2).
The engine on the Rapide S is placed 1.9 centimeters lower to create a lower center of mass.
At the same time, the “S” and has upgraded adjustable suspension with three parameters, normal, sport and track.
The steering system is improved which adapts to the characteristics of more power, promising higher levels of responsiveness.Visually, the Aston Martin Rapide S features a redesigned and more imposing grille which that protects the car, in case of an impact it “pops” out and back into place by reducing the force of impact.
The Rapide S has a redesigned aerodynamic wing on top of the trunk, 20 inch wheels and is available in many colors.
