Audi released the first images and information about the brand new A3 hatchback plug-in hybrid with the name “e-tron”.
The Audi A3 e-tron of 2013 is based on the third generation of the premium compact of the German company, it has a hybrid system that combines a 1.4-liter TFSI turbo gasoline engine that producess 150 PS with an electric motor with 75 kW (102 PS) , which is incorporated in the new
«eS tronic» 6-speed gearbox. The power is transmitted to the front wheels.
The combined system output reaches 204 hp and 350 Nm of torque which means that the 5-door Sportback can complete the 0-100 km/h in 7,6 sec. the top speed reaches 222 km/h.According to Audi, the Audi A3 e-tron has an average consumption of just 1,5 lt/100 km with CO2 emissions ranging at only 35 gr/km! Of course it should be noted that these figures require continuous use of the electric motor to be achieved.
The A3 e-tron has three driving modes: the first is using only the petrol engine, the second using only the electric motor (zero emissions) and using both engines. Using only the electric motor, the e-tron can achieve a top speed of around 130 km/h, while the autonomy reaches 50 km.
Unfortunately, Audi has not announced yet a price, nor in which countries the new plug-in hybrid compact will be available.
The first RS version SUV from Audi will be presented at the Geneva Show. It is called the RSQ3, it is equipped with a 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine (the same engine as the Audi TTRS), it produces 310 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. It achieves 0-100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.The power is transmited through a seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox. The suspension is 25 mm. lower than the Q3, while the battery is installed in the trunk for better weight distribution.
