The number of electric supercar concepts seems to be constantly growing lately, but only a few of them get to eventually see some road or track action.
The Spanish company Applus Idiada has developed a new electric supercar.The name of this car is Volar-E. Applus Idiada was selected by the European Union in 2012 to design and develop a high-performance electric vehicle. The Spaniards worked with Rimac and the design process was completed in three months.
The supercar features a tubular chassis, made of chrome and lead and carbon body with the power being transferred to all four wheels. It features energy recovery system when braking, the batteries of the motors come from the Rimac, have a capacity of 38 kWh and a total voltage of 640V and can be charged in 15 to 20 minutes using a special charging system .It has four electric motors, one located at each wheel, making the supercar able to produce a total of 800 hp (596 kW) with 1.500 Nm of torque. The
0-100 km/h is completed in 3.4 seconds and is top speed is limited at 300 km/h. It will also will be equipped with an advanced infotainment system.
