Honda officially unveiled the FCEV Concept at Los Angeles. FCEV stands for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle and the concept gives us an idea of how the car that will be the second generation of the FCX Clarity will look like. The design is very futuristic while some details that stand out are the grille , roof and covered rear wheels .
The five-seater FCEV is also the first vehicle in the world to have the entire fuel cell powertrain into the engine compartment. According to Honda this is the feature that will allow designers to create various spacious vehicles with fuel cells.
Honda said that hydrogen cells have “significant technological advances ” and even though they are smaller by 33 % than those of the FCX Clarity, they have a 60 % higher power density. Honda also revealed that these new cells will allow the driver to travel over 482 km with each filling which will takes approximately 3 minutes.
