The top version of the new E class will be available both in sedan and estate versions.
The engine of the car, is the fully enhanced version of the twin-turbo V8 engine of 5.5 liters, which delivers 557 horsepower at 5,500 rpm with torque of 720 Nm, between 1,750 and 5,250 rpm. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h is 4.2 seconds or 3.7 seconds if the client chooses the all-wheel drive 4MATIC version, which is first seen on an AMG, model that does not belong to the SUV class!
With the same engine but with performance at 585 horsepower, 800 Nm of torque, the E63 AMG, will be available as a four-wheel drive sports package with the name S-Model. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h comes in just 3.6 seconds for the sedan and 3.7 seconds for the estate versions of the S-Model. According to Mercedes, despite the explosive power of the 8-cylinder engine, the average consumption is only 10.3 lt/100 km and emits 242 gr./Km of CO2, depending on the driving mode chosen through the 7-speed manual AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT which offers the following options: C (Controlled Efficiency), S (Sport), S + (Sport Plus) and M (Manual).
The AMG has managed accordingly the design of the estate version, which stands in relation to the sedan model with the redesigned bumpers, the air inlets, the spoiler, the diffuser at the back and the trapezoidal exhaust tailpipes. The 19 inch wheels, will “wear” sports tires measuring 285/30.
