After the leak BMW presented the 4-Series Convertible which will make its global debut in the report of Los Angeles. It has no significant changes compared with the 4 series coupe , with the metal folding roof to have three parts , which according to BMW, reduce noise in the interior by 2 dB relative to the roof of the 3-Series Convertible.
The roof opens and closes at the touch of a button within 20 seconds , even when the car is moving at 18 km/h. The BMW has equipped thr 4 series convertible with heating system at the neck of the passengers , so that they can enjoy the open roof, even when temperatures are low in the atmosphere. With the roof open, the 4-Series Convertible has an aerodynamic of coefficient 0,33 Cd while with it closed , 0,28 Cd.
Under the hood we find the original two petrol engines and one diesel , all Euro 6. The 420d Convertible version is equipped with a
2.0 liter turbodiesel engine producing 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque with the 0-100 km/h coming in 8.2 seconds having a top speed of 235 km/h and an average fuel consumption of 5.2 l/100 km and 135 g/km emissions of CO2.
The BMW 428i Convertible is equipped with the 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo engine producing 245 horses and 350 Nm of torque with the 0-100 km/h coming in 6.4 seconds having a top speed of 250 km/h and an average fuel consumption of 6.9 l/100 km and
161 g/km emissions of CO2.
Finally, the 435i Convertible is equipped with a 3.0 – liter TwinPower Turbo engine producing 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque with the 0-100 km/h coming in 5.6 seconds having a top speed of 250 km/h ( electronically limited) and an average fuel consumption of
8.3 l/100 km and 193 g/km emissions of CO2.
The engines are combined with a 6 speed manual transmission, while on the additional equipment there is the 8 speed automatic transmission with paddles on the steering wheel . Both gearboxes have as standard equipment a Start/Stop system.
In terms of equipment , the BMW 4-Series Convertible is available with packages Sport Line, Modern Line, Luxury Line and the M Sport.
