Fiat is continuing the testing of the Fiat 500X and the small crossover of Jeep. The mule is wearing a modified body of a 500L with smaller rear doors and increased ground clearance .
Both cars will be manufactured at Fiat’s factory in Melfi , Italy, as announced by Sergio Marchionne. They will hit the market in 2014 with Fiat to invest more than $ 1 billion in the factory so that it has the ability to manufacture 1,600 cars daily.
Both will be built on the short “Small Wide” platform and will be available in four-wheel drive. They will be equipped with known petrol and diesel engines of Fiat as the 900 cc TwinAir Turbo producing 105 hp and 145 Nm of torque , the 1.4 liter MultiAir Turbo producing 160 hp and 184 Nm of torque and the 1.6 MultiJet II producing 105 hp and 320 Nm of torque.
Firstly it will come to the market as a model of Jeep, and would later follow as 500X with Fiat to suggest that plant will be able to build an additional two models.
