The Mercedes GLE Coupe, which until last week we knew as MLC (ML Coupe), continues testing at the Nürburgring. The production version of the coupe ML-Class, is codenamed C292, it will be manufactured in the factory town of Tuscaloosa in Alabama, in what the Daimler has invested 2 billion dollars to upgrade. It will be the fifth model made in the U.S. factory, since it is already manufacturing the C-Class, ML-Class, GL-Class and R-Class.
It will be available with a range of engines, among which will be a 3 liter V6 diesel with 258 hp, a 3.5 liter V6 petrol engine producing 306 hp and a 4.6 liter V8 with 435 hp. Of course there will also be a hybrid version and the GLE Coupe 63 AMG which will be equipped with a twin-turbo 5.5 liter V8 engine producing 525 hp with 700 Nm of torque. The car is expected to be presented in the first half of 2015, with sales to begin in the third quarter of the same year.
