The R10, the new Audi hypercar that has been inspired by the R18 Le Mans racing car, is rumored to have gotten the green light for production. The car will be wearing a carbon monocoque chassis and it will have slightly larger dimensions than the R8 and its design will borrow many elements from the R18 e-tron quattro.

It is rumored that it will be equipped with a twin-turbo V10 6,0 liter engine producing 850 hp and an electric motor, which in combination would give 1,000 hp. The V10 engine will have a four cylinder deactivation system, so that it can run only with six cylinders for reduced consumption when the full power is not required.

The R10 is expected to be presented sometime in 2016 and it will go into limited production at a cost of close to €900,000.
