The Renault 4 was one of the most famous French cars ever. Its simple and minimalist design concealed a very spacious interior that could accommodate up to five people plus luggage in spite of the external length of 3 meters and 66 centimeters.
The success of this car was immediate and already in the early sixties Renault picked up hundreds of thousands of orders for a car destined to change the face of France and the whole world. The R4 has in fact been exported at hundreds of world markets, from South America to Africa, collecting, in its thirty-year career until the end of production in 1992, more than 8 million cars were sold.
The secret was in its simplicity, with a reliable mechanism with four-cylinder engines with power outputs from 20 to 34 hp, enough to propel the various versions ranging from 540 to 720 kilograms of weight. The renderings you are seeing are made by David Obendorfer.
