At the Guangzhou motor show in China, BMW presented the 530Le, a plug-in hybrid version of the 5 Series, exclusively available for the Chinese market.
The only change that makes the car stand out from the other 5-Series, is the”530Le” logo on the back of the trunk. The car will be equipped with the two liter four-cylinder N20 engine, combined with an electric motor. The power will pass on the road through the eight-speed automatic transmission of ZF, with the car to be manufactured from next year, at the factory of the Chinese consortium Brilliance-BMW, in Shenyang City of China’s Liaoning province.
The car will be available only in long-wheelbase version, with the hybrid powertrain delivering combined 276 hp and having an average fuel consumption of just 2.1 liters/100 km and emitting 49 g/km of CO2. The car has an autonomy of 58 kilometers solely on the electric motor, with 120 km/h top speed.
