Buick presented at the Shanghai auto show the new Verano. The model, that will be sold under the name Wei Lang in the local market, borrows design elements from the Avenir Concept and the Riviera Concept.

It is equipped with a 1.5 liter SIDI turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine producing 169 hp at 5,600 rpm with 250 Nm of torque between 1,700 and 4,400 rpm, with an average fuel consumption of 6.1 liters/100 km. The engine is combined with a new 7-speed automatic DCG double clutch transmission.
The car is built on the D2XX platform of GM, the same one used for the new Chevrolet Cruze. The car features LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights and 17 inch wheels with low-resistance Continental MC5 tires sized 225/45. The sales of the new Buick Verano will start in the second half of the year.
