BYD which has the support of Berkshire Hathaway Inc of Warren Buffet, has a goal to sell more than Tesla. The Chinese company plans to add 6 GWh of battery production every year for the next three years, increasing its production to 34 GWh until early 2020.
If they succeed, they will be at the same level as the Gigafactory of Tesla that will start production of 35 GWh, around 2020. BYD is currently the sixth largest battery manufacturer in the world, having factories in China and Brazil.
