The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR was first launched in 1998 and it was developed by AMG, the CLK GTR was originally designed as a racing car for the 1997 GT Championship of FIA, however in order for Mercedes to get the homologation for the car, they had to produce at least 25 cars.

Mercedes built 35 CLK GTR, 2 of them were prototypes, 7 were used for racing purposes and 26 were sold to customers with 20 being coupes and 6 roadsters. The car was equipped with a 6.9 liter V12 engine producing 612 hp with 775 Nm of torque, that enabled it to do the 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, having a top speed of 320 km/h.

Only 5 of the 26 road cars, were the CLK GTR Super Sport version, that was equipped with a 7.3 liter V12 engine producing 720 hp with 786 Nm of torque, giving the car the ability to do the 0-100 km/h in three seconds.
