Ferrari Classiche recently completed a full restoration of a 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione. The restoration work began in March of 2014 and it took the engineers of the Italian company 14 months, to restore the car.

This 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione was purchased by Dorino Serafini, the Formula 1 driver who finished second on behalf of Ferrari at the Italian Grand Prix in 1950. Serafini rarely used the car and so in 1964 he sold it to René Richard, who crashed it, then the Belgian driver Lucien Bianchi bought it and repaired and painted it in a dark blue color. Then Bianchi sold it to another racing driver, called Jacques Pollet, who painted the car in gray. Later the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione went to auction, with the its new Belgian owner to paint it in yellow. Ferrari’s engineers finally painted the model in a gray “Pininfarina grey” color, since this was the desire of the current owner.
