Fiat announced that the new Ducato, is now available in version that consumes natural gas. The Ducato 140 Natural Power, combines natural gas with a 3.0-liter turbo engine producing 136 hp at 3,500 rpm and 350 Nm of torque at 1500 rpm. The car reaches has a top speed of 159 km/h and a fuel consumption of 13,1 m³/ 100 km of natural gas and emits 234 g/km of CO2.
The engine is configured to operate normally on natural gas and it starts consuming gasoline automatically only when the gas is running low. The petrol tank of 15 liters ensures an autonomy of 100 kilometers, to get the car to the next gas station.
The cylindrical gas tanks are located under the floor and this leaves free the entire cargo area. The fuel system consists of five cylindrical tanks with a total capacity of 220 liters, that provide an autonomy of 400 km.
