Honda presented the fifth generation of the CR-V. The model that you see in the pictures is the one that will be sold in the US market. The car features LED lights, new bumpers, a new grille with an automatic closing system to improve aerodynamics and chrome decorations, with the interior to offer the larger space in its class, according to Honda.
The dashboard features a large touch screen of 7 inches for the infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The materials used are of higher quality, with the increased wheelbase of 41 mm to provide more space for the passengers. The car has also dual-zone air conditioning, heated door mirrors, an electric parking brake, USB ports on the rear seats, a driver’s seat with 8 settings and front heated seats.
Mechanically it is offered with a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine producing 190 hp with 243 Nm of torque. Also the company will offer a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces 184 hp and 244 Nm of torque, with the power passing to either the front or all wheels through a CVT transmission, with the AWD system to be offered in the additional equipment.
The new Honda CR-V has been equipped with a collision-mitigation braking system, with a forward collision warning system, with a lane departure warning system, adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
The car will make ts official debut at the Los Angeles auto show next month, with its sales to start from the winter of 2017.
