Audi is preparing the second generation of the A7 Sportback, that will be wider and it will have a smaller length. It’s design will borrow elements from the Prologue concept, with the new Chief Designer of Audi, March Lichte promising a greater diversity among the company’s models. Lichte also said that the second generation of the A7 will combine “slim elegance with a sporty design”.
The car will feature LED headlights and wider fenders, while the interior will have a large touch screen, through which the driver will be able to control most of the functions with several physical buttons to be removed from the central console.
It will be available with a range of gasoline and diesel engines, between which there will be a four-cylinder 2 liter engine producing 330 hp and a V6 diesel producing 355 hp, while the S7 will be equipped with a new 3 liter V6 turbo engine producing close to 500 hp. As for the RS7, it will be equipped with an upgraded 4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing close to 600 hp. Finally there will be a plug-in hybrid version that will combine a turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor.
