Lexus gave some interesting details for the 5,0 liter V8 of the RC F Coupe, that is characterized as the most powerful V8 performance car ever built by the Japanese brand.
The 5,0 liter V8 produces 477 hp and it has 32-valves. The engine is an evolution of the engine of the IS F, revving up to 7,300 rpm The compression ratio has been increased to 12.3: 1, the torque can be increased to 530 Nm, between 4,800 and 5,600 rpm
Compared to the engine of the IS F, that of the F RC has a new air intake, new cylinders, D-4S injection system, new pistons, a new crankshaft, VVT-i variable valve timing, intake made of titanium and forged connecting rods. The engine operates in Atkinson cycle in calm drives to reduce consumption, while it returns to Otto cycle mode when the driver decides to move quickly.
The RC F does the 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds, before reaching its top speed of 270 km/h (electronically limited).
