The Lincoln Continental concept, will be auctioned by RM Auctions in November in Dallas, USA. The prototype was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2002 and stood out mainly for its rear doors opening backwards.
The Continental took 2 years to design and manufacture. The car has odd proportions and a luxurious passenger compartment right in the center of the wheelbase. The doors opening backwards have an opening of almost 2 meters when they are both open with the hinge allowing the doors to be opened up to 90 degrees.
It is equipped with a 6 liter V12 with 414 hp and 560 Nm of torque combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is worth mentioning that the car is 5.44 meters long!
