A very rare and beautiful 1969 AMC AMX/3 will be auctioned by Gooding & Co in January, with the company estimating that it will sell at a price between $900,000 and $1,3 million.
The AMX/3 was undoubtedly an exotic car that is equipped with a 390 ci (6.4-liter) V8 engine, combined with a 4-speed transaxle gearbox. The assembly of the car was supposed to be done in Italy and it was supposed to be produced in 1,000 units, but only five were built.
The AMX/3 that you see in the main photo, was tested in Monza, where it exceeded the target of top speed that was 160 mph (257.5 km/h). BMW had undertaken the engineering and testing for the car, Giotto Bizzarrini, who also worked for Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Iso developed the chassis and suspension and Italdesign undertook the construction of the bodywork.
