A few days after Mazda’s announcement that they will produce a gasoline engine without spark plugs, it became known that recently they patented in the American patent and Trademark Office, a new engine.
Not many elements of the engine are known, nor if it will come out in production, but it seems to be a high-tech engine that makes use of an electric supercharger and two turbos. The supercharger will be activated at low speeds, in order to give the necessary power for the exhausts of the engine to move the rotors of the turbo with sufficient rpms. However, from the sketches it seems that the engine will be used in a rear wheel drive car.
