Mercedes-Benz announced that at the Detroit auto show they will present the first two models of the new AMG Sport series, a new family of fast cars that will be placed under purely AMG versions and above models with the AMG Sport Package. The cars will wear the AMG Sport logos and they “will offer improved performance and technical improvements”.
All AMG Sport models will have all-wheel drive as standard equipment, improvements to the chassis, brakes from the AMG models and of course improved engines.
One of the first two models that will wear the AMG Sport package will be the C450 AMG Sport and the second will be the GLE Coupe. The CEO of AMG, Tobias Moers said that Mercedes-AMG will sell 40,000 cars this year and by 2017, the company wants to sell 64,000 cars, double what it sold in 2013.
