Mercedes-Benz presented at the Detroit auto show the C450 AMG Sport. This new version is placed just below the C63 AMG and it borrows several design elements from it.
It is equipped with a 3 liter twin-turbo, V6 engine producing 362 hp at 5,500 rpm and 517 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 4,200 rpm, combined with a 7G-Tronic, seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. The 100 km/h from a standstill, comes in 4.9 seconds for the sedan version and 5 seconds for the station wagon and the top speed in both cases, is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The C450 AMG Sport, features adjustable shock absorbers, harder springs, while, the suspension has more negative camber and the four-wheel drive system has been modified to transfer 67% of the power to the rear wheels. Otherwise, the C450 AMG Sport, is equipped with 18 inch alloy wheels with tires 225/45 front and 245/40 rear and ventilated brake discs that have a diameter of 360 mm front and 320 mm rear.
Stylistically, the AMG Sport version of the C-Class is not very different from the standard. Slightly different is the front bumper with the larger air intakes, the mirrors caps are black, the grille is changed while at the back, it features double exhaust tailpipes and a small spoiler. Similarly, inside, the differences are limited to the flat-bottom steering wheel, the red seatbelts, the sport seats, the red stitching, the aluminum pedals and a few more small changes. Sales of the Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport are expected to launch in the coming months.
