Mercedes-Benz at CES presented the F 015 Luxury in Motion concept, the new autonomous car, that shows us a futuristic interior for the future cars of the company.
The Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion concept has a length of 5.220 mm, width of 2.018 mm, height of 1.524 mm, with a wheelbase reaching 3.610 mm. Its design is aerodynamic and it stands on 26 inch rims. It has an aluminum body, LED illuminated grille, but not middle columns, for easier access for the passengers, who also benefit from the opposite opening back doors, which can be open in an angle of 90 degrees.
The car can carry four passengers, who can sit facing each other. The seats, when the doors open, turn by 30 degrees so passengers can sit comfortably. Among them there is a table while totally in the car there are 6 large screens that support touch features, gestures and eye tracking to reduce distractions.
It is equipped with a powertrain that consists of two electric motors on the rear axle producing 100 kW (136 hp) and 199 Nm of torque each, which combined produce 200 kW (272 hp) with 395 Nm of torque, powered by a lithium-ion battery of 10 kWh, which charges via a hydrogen cell engine. The 0-100 km/h is achieved in 6.7 sec. with the top speed reaching 200 km/h. The hydrogen tank has a capacity of 5.4 kg and it can store the hydrogen under pressure of 700 bar. With the full tank to give a range of 1,100 km.
The car consumes 0.6 kilograms of hydrogen per 100 km, with the hydrogen fuel cells to give as much electricity to cover 900 miles, with another 200 km of autonomy coming from their energy that is acquired through inductive charging from the lithium-ion batteries.
