Mercedes released the first teaser photos and video for the AMG GT R which will be officially presented at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of the month. The car that we see, is painted in green and it has a new aerodynamic body kit consisting of a new front splitter, air vents, central exhaust tailpipes, a fixed rear spoiler, a diffuser, a new grille and different bumpers.

The car’s roof and mirrors are made of carbon, the hood is ventilated and it has active aerodynamic devices that significantly improve its performance. It will be equipped with a 4 liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 585 hp, that will enable to do the 0-100 km/h in about 3.4 seconds.

It’s expected weigh will be at least 80-100 kilos less than that of the AMG GT S that weighs 1.495 kilos, it will have a tighter suspension and larger brakes. The AMG GT R will be placed between the AMG GT S and AMG GT Black Series.
