MINI presented the Superleggera Vision concept which would be exposed to the public at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este, in Como, Italy.
The concept is the result of the partnership of Mini with the British company Touring Superleggera, which amongst other things has engineered the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante.
The roadster has two seats and according to the company it is “the most minimalist and emotional style of motoring ” and the exterior styling is a result of a handmade body which hosts beautiful and gentle curves, bringing to mind the Jaguar D-Type.
It has a long bonnet and a smaller rear part, with the mask and the lights having the features of the new corporate identity. The profile is characterized by a pair of lines, which run through the body. The back reminds us of the old Aston Martin Vanquish, because of the shape of the lights and their contours. It is painted in the unique blue color Como Blue, with the front splitter being from carbon, while the sills and wing on the back are made from CFRP.
The interior is simple, luxurious and covered with high quality leather. The instrument panel consists of a digital instrument and much aluminum, while dominant position has the three-spoke steering wheel and the analog clock.
MINI has not announced details for the mechanical assembly and performance, but it confirmed that the car is equipped with an electric motor.
