Maserati is going to renew the GranTurismo. This was confirmed by Peter Denton, manager of Northern Europe for Maserati, who stated that the next generation will be unveiled in 2017, it will be available exclusively in coupe version, and it will be more compact.
This means that the existing GranCabrio will not be replaced by a new model, but will take the place of the convertible version of the Alfieri which is expected also in 2017, with the coupe version of the Alfieri coming out a year earlier.
According to rumors, the GranTurismo will be fitted with a 3,8 liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing more than 550 hp, with the power to pass only to the rear wheels. Similarly, the Alfieri (coupe and cabrio) will be available with both the rwd and awd and it will be equipped with a 3-liter V6 engine producing 513 hp.
