Nissan presented the hybrid version of the X-Trail, with the car to initially be available only in the Japanese market.

The car is equipped with a hybrid set which combines a 2 liter four-cylinder engine producing 147 hp with 207 Nm of torque and an electric motor of 30 kW (40 hp) with 160 Nm of torque which is powered by a lithium-ion battery.
The hybrid set is combined with a XTronic CVT gearbox, with the car having an average fuel consumption of 4.8 liters/100 km. The batteries are located on the floor of the luggage compartment, which has a maximum capacity of 400 liters.
The Nissan X-Trail Hybrid will be equipped with the Intelligent Dual Clutch Control system, a dual-clutch parallel hybrid system that provides the power passage from the engine to the transmission, without making use of a torque converter, thus improving the start and acceleration. The Nissan X-Trail Hybrid will go on sale in late fall with an initial price of 2.805.000 yen.
