In 1987 Lamborghini, was acquired by Chrysler and then the Lamborghini Portofino Concept was created. The car was presented at the 1987 Frankfurt auto show, with Chrysler to describe it as the ultimate touring sedan car.
It was built on the chassis of a Lamborghini Jalpa and it was equipped with a 3.5 liter V8 engine producing 250 hp, combined with a 5-speed gearbox.
The interior featured gray leather with yellow stitching and the center console extended up to the rear seats, adding rigidity to the structure, with its doors to open upwards. Today the Lamborghini Portofino is located in the museum of Chrysler.
