Opel is preparing to release 7 new or renewed models through 2017, with the slogan “7 in 17”. The next year will be very important for the German company, since they will renew fully their range.
The first new model will be the new Insignia that will be presented in Geneva. The car will have the same coupe style of the current generation, but it will gain more sporty features, having also a significantly reduced weight and being offered in more four-wheel drive versions. The Insignia Sports Tourer will be based on the Monza concept, having a fairly dynamic design. Its interior will be significantly improved and it will be more spacious. The company will present also at the second half of the year the Insignia Country Tourer.
Opel will bring also in Geneva the new Meriva, which will change name and will be called Crossland X. The car will be a crossover that will be placed over the Mokka X. Opel will present in Frankfurt the successor of the Zafira, that will also become a crossover.
In May of 2017 the company will release the electric Ampera-e that will have an impressive autonomy of 500 km and will be based on the Chevrolet Bolt. The price of the car is expected to start from €35,000, due to the battery of 60kWh. Finally Opel will also present a new version of the Vivaro.
The first 9 months of this year the sales of Opel/Vauxhall have increased by 5.2%, reaching 892,000 sales, with the new generation of the Astra contributing to this increase.
